# Generate images

> Create images from a prompt, a ready character model, and optional reference elements.

`createImageSimplify` submits an asynchronous generation and returns `Content!`.
Use [API key authentication](/api-reference/authentication) and a ready image
model accessible to the account. A successful response is an acceptance receipt;
follow [tasks and results](/api-reference/tasks-and-results) for final media.

## Submit an image generation

## Arguments and metadata

`modelId: ID!` selects the image model. `metadata` uses
`SimpleImageContentMetadataInput`:

| `width`, `height` | `Int!` | Required dimensions in pixels, or ratio components when `isRatio` is true. |
| `isRatio` | `Boolean`, `false` | Treat dimensions as an aspect ratio. |
| `prompt` | `String` | Creative brief. Provide a prompt or the prompt-selection inputs required by your workflow. |
| `negativePrompt` | `String` | Optional content to avoid. |
| `numSamples` | `Int`, `4` | Requested image count; the selected workflow validates its supported count. |
| `outputQuality` | `OutputQuality!`, `ultraFast` | Supported values: `ultraFast`, `ultra`, `ultra4k`, `ultraS`. |
| `elementIds` | `[ID!]` | Accessible reference elements. |
| `seeds` | `Long` | Optional starting seed; omitted values allow random selection. |
| `promptSelectionIds` | `[ID!]` | Selected predefined prompts. |
| `promptBundleId` | `ID` | Selected prompt bundle. |
| `extraPlugins` | `[ID!]` | Additional supported plugins. |
| `styleReferenceImageUrl` | `String` | An existing uploaded style reference accepted by the integration. |
| `poseReferenceImageUrl` | `String` | An existing uploaded pose reference accepted by the integration. |

`high` and `best` are enum values used by other operations; they are not supported
qualities for this mutation. Explicitly provide `width` and `height`, even if
your client offers default dimensions.

Settings and reference limits depend on the selected workflow. A seed is an
input to generation, not a guarantee that repeated requests produce identical
media. Check [credits and billing](/credits-and-billing), submit once, and retain
both IDs from the receipt.
